Governmental

Our attorneys in the Governmental Law practice group have years of experience assisting local governments, boards and authorities with a wide range of legal matters including zoning and planning, economic development, economic incentives, contract bidding, open meetings laws, property disposition, acquisition and development as well as personnel and employment issues.  The practice group regularly provides counsel to local governments in the drafting of contracts, inter-local agreements, ordinances and policies.

We have served as general counsel to Nash County since 1991 where our lawyers have assisted the County Commissioners as well as all county departments, boards and the county’s water and sewer authority.  In 2014, we also became general counsel for Northampton County.  Additionally, we have provided counsel to smaller municipalities throughout Eastern North Carolina.
