Alexander B. Urquhart

Attorney Alex Urquhart has focused his practice on Land Use and Environmental Law, Business Law, Civil Litigation, and Trusts and Estates.  He has represented businesses, non-profits, and individuals and is admitted to practice in the North Carolina state courts. 

Alex Urquhart was raised in Edgecombe County, North Carolina just outside the metropolis of Speed, population 65.  He graduated high school from the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.  Alex graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in Global Studies and Economics and then continued his education at Tulane University Law School, where he graduated with a certificate in Environmental Law.

Alex joined Battle Winslow in 2019 and now lives in Tarboro.  Alex’s wife Molly works in education policy, and they are advocates for improving educational opportunities for young people in the area and throughout North Carolina.  Alex currently serves on the boards of the local United Way and the Edgecombe Community Foundation and serves on the advisory board of the Luke Garrison Foundation.

Outside his practice, Alex enjoys learning from and conversing with friends and family, hunting and fishing with his father Billy, a great outdoorsman, and following UNC sports and the Atlanta Braves.
